I know what opportunity costs and what it takes to pivot direction more than once.
Organizations don’t get stuck because they’re broken.
They get stuck when the world around them shifts faster than the systems, roles, and assumptions that once worked.
O’Rork Consulting offers something leaders rarely receive:
a steady view shaped by inside experience —
and the freedom of an outside vantage.
I support executives, senior staff, and boards as they make decisions in moments that require steadiness and precision.

Museum executive and strategic advisor with 40 years in arts and education—known for steady leadership through paradigm shifts, creating cohesive teams, and charting a course through governance ambiguity.
MY BACKGROUND
I come to this work from the inside.
I’ve led arts and cultural institutions from the pressure seat—where decisions carry public consequence.
Over fifteen years at the executive level, the work covered everything from stabilizing culture during uncertainty to navigating competing accountabilities, guiding growth and contraction, public/private partnership challenges and steering change without losing the institution's soul.
The through-line was always the same: seeing the whole system clearly when the pressure is highest.
CURRENT FIELDWORK
I stay close to what’s shifting in the field.
I facilitate the Deputy Directors’ Roundtable with Nonprofit Wizards—ongoing, candid conversations with senior leaders across the country. It keeps my perspective current, grounded, and practical.
WHAT I BRING
Calm intelligence
A presence that steadies the room,
reduces overwhelm, and makes
space for clearer thinking.
Quiet authority
Confidence without force—
the kind that earns trust quietly.
Nuanced listening
I hear what’s said, what’s implied, and
what hasn’t yet been named that rises
to the surface.
Whole-system insight
People, patterns, pressures, culture, context
— held in one integrated view.
Meaning-making
Metaphors surface and clarity moments that reframe
how a situation is understood.
Practical strategy
Direction that works in real life — with your
current bandwidth, people, and pace.
Sector awareness
Museums and cultural nonprofits. Funding disruptions.
Current external pressures. Boards, stakeholders, public trust
— and the exhaustion leaders are carrying right now.
WHY THIS MATTERS NOW
The sector is carrying more than it can handle. Funding is volatile, expectations are shifting, teams are tired, and boards are navigating terrain that has no map.
What leaders need right now isn't more advice. It's someone who can see clearly alongside them — and help them find the next solid ground.
The first conversation is simply a chance to think out loud together.
No agenda. No obligation.
